Software Developer

The role of the Information Technology function is to develop, implement and manage IT systems and solutions to further Parkwood’s goals and objectives.  The Software Developer’s main responsibility will be to design, program, implement and support internally-developed and third-party applications and reports.  The Software Developer will streamline business processes and access to information.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the position include:

• Develop internal web applications using C#/.NET and related technologies
• Build and maintain ETL processes to transfer data to and from external systems via FTP and API connections (REST/SOAP)
• Design, develop, and maintain financial and investment reports using tools such as Crystal Reports, SSRS, and ClosedXML
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and deliver high-quality, maintainable solutions
• Continuously improve existing systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability

Background and Work Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, with strong academic performance
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development and application support
• Strong proficiency in:

  • C# and .NET, including web application development with Blazor, ASP.NET MVC, or other modern frameworks
  • Entity Framework
  • SQL (T-SQL, stored procedures)
  • ETL development and data integration using APIs or FTP

• Hands-on experience with Git and Azure DevOps for version control, CI/CD, and work tracking

Other Desirable Attributes

• Experience with Python for scripting, automation, or data transformation
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database
• Familiarity with Postgres or other open-source database platforms
• Experience with document parsing and data extraction tools like LayoutLM or other OCR/ML libraries
• Front-end development skills using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue
• Experience with Microsoft Graph API
• Exposure to AWS services such as Lambda, S3, RDS
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of financial services, investment workflows, or related domains
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
