LaVonda D. Napka

Biography

LaVonda D. Napka is Corporate Counsel and Secretary. LaVonda is primarily responsible for tax planning and strategy for Parkwood and its clients, acting as legal counsel to the Mandel Foundation, and handling legal issues related to direct investment activities. She is also responsible for general legal matters, such as negotiating service contracts, consulting agreements, and ISDA documentation. LaVonda joined Parkwood in 2013.

Prior to joining Parkwood, LaVonda was a senior associate attorney in the tax practice group at Thompson Hine, where she worked with corporate, partnership, and individual clients on matters relating to international, federal, and state and local tax matters, including matters related to M&A and formation of private equity funds and hedge funds.  Prior to Thompson Hine, LaVonda worked for Grant Thornton serving as an international tax associate.  This broad range of experience helped her develop research and analytical skills and a broad base of federal, state and local income tax knowledge.

LaVonda earned a BA in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Ohio Northern University in 2001 and a Juris Doctor (Cum Laude) from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2006.  LaVonda is a member of the Ohio bar.

LaVonda and her husband, Jason, reside in Avon Lake, Ohio with their two children.
